I’d like to share with you a brief, yet heart felt note my daughter sent to me for Mother’s Day 1996, while she was away at college during her 18th year.

Mom,

Thank you for allowing me to formulate my own ideas and goals. You have given me the opportunity for success by helping me become an individual with unique thoughts and beliefs. Later on in life you can look to this gift to understand that you helped me learn what many spend their lives searching for. With your help, I’ve come to realize the formula for success. Although it remains to be seen what I’ll do with this profound knowledge, you can rest easy knowing you have done your part. You’ve helped to give me the greatest gift a child can ask for, an OPEN MIND.
